Our mission is to develop successful lifelong readers by encouraging children’s love of reading and learning. We do this in three ways:
- Read Aloud Program. Our volunteers “bring books to life” by reading aloud to groups of children in Title One schools, shelters, after school programs and community and child care centers. But it’s much more than that. Because the same volunteer goes to the same school each week, they develop a rapport with the children to whom they read and become a positive role model in their lives.
- Tutoring. Rolling Readers offers tutoring for children grades 1 through 3 to help raise their reading level.
- Book Giveaways. Twice a year, Rolling Readers gives brand new books to all the children we serve.
