How To Help

Volunteering

Rolling Readers of the Midlands is always looking for volunteers. In addition to individual volunteers, Rolling Readers will work with your organization to train and place a group of employees to read aloud or tutor. The commitment is only one hour a week.

We also welcome student volunteers at the high school or college level. Teens earn community service hours and get first hand experience in a classroom setting. We also work with teens through the teacher cadet program.

Contributing

You can also support Rolling Readers by contributing financially. Here are just a few ways you can help:

  • Choose Rolling Readers as your charity of choice by committing a financial gift (monthly or yearly). Your gift will be acknowledged in our newsletters, website and special labels will be placed on books during our giveaway.

  • Sponsor a classroom. Your $150 donation enables Rolling Readers to place a volunteer and provide books for the students. A label acknowledging your gift will be placed on each book for that class.

  • Sponsor a fundraiser for Rolling Readers by holding your own event or contributing to one of ours. Our signature event is a Motown Barbeque and Silent Auction, held each year.

  • Donate gift certificates or obtain items from businesses for our silent auction.

  • Donate your time, talent and resources to further Rolling Readers' mission.
